Thoughts of Veyo by Grant Leavitt written in 2003

Thoughts of Veyo

One of the first things Grant remembers about Veyo is that it felt like one BIG family.  Everyone seemed to take care of each other. He remembers that Steven and him were always together and always in trouble especially for racing. Dad (Ken) and Uncle Leo bought a couple of old horses for Steven and Grant. They had some old army saddles that they modified for them.  They’d run the horses up and

Uncle Leo and Aunt Rena by Milt Lytle August 2014

Uncle Leo and  Aunt Rena lived in Veyo in the old Renough home northeast across the street from Grandma Leavitt. I think that was the meeting place when relatives came to visit because they had big living room. Uncle Leo was the bishop of the Veyo Ward at one time. We visited them also at their ranch north of Veyo several miles. Uncle Leo was handy at fixing things with baling wire. I think that was the handy man's tool before duct tape. Aunt Rena and Uncle Leo was there to give a helping hand to Grandma Leavitt. Later years they built a home down by the new bridge. Uncle Leo also drove truck for a trucking company for years to help raise his family plus manage the ranch he had.
