Dad (Ken) decided he was going to show the family how to ride a bike. He tied a rope to the bumper of the old Ford and then to the handle bars. Mom (Afton) wasn’t too sure about the project but Dad insisted that she drive. The family were all in the backseat watching.
Everything went fine until they reached the hayfield. The road was covered with fine dust about 1 foot deep. As soon as the car hit it, they lost sight of Dad. Soon he emerged in the hayfield trying to get out of the dust, then he hit the rock which knocked him off the bike. Mom drug the bike until they told her Dad had wrecked. The lesson was well learned by everyone that was present. Grant can’t remember any of the kids every trying such an act.
