In September 1981, my mother (Afton) got really sick and the Richfield hospital transported her by ambulance to Utah Valley in Provo. They called Grant to let him know and he was trying to tend to Susan who was having a miscarriage at that very moment. Grant kept rushing out from the house and going to the Payson overpass to see if he could see the ambulance go by and then rush back to help Susan. He did this many times and finally called the hospital and discovered they already had her there. My dad (Ken) said “If he knew the ambulance was going to drive that fast, he would have taken her himself.”
