Uncle Leo and his family and also Art came along to visit at the Ranch in Torrey. Steven, Art and Grant went down into the pasture. Leo and Afton were standing on the porch of the house wondering where the three boys were at. Afton pointed out to a swarm of mosquitos knowing that’s where they were.
The city slickers from St. George had thin skin and were being chased by all those mosquitos. Steven and Art were swattin’ and runnin’ at the same time trying to find the shortest route out of all those “mosquiters.” The route they chose went through the garden unknown to them the pole beans were hung by bailing wire strung from the top to the bottom of the garden about chest high. They knew the wire was there when they HIT it. If they were going any faster, it would have cut their heads off.
Along about this same time, Glen and Bob came up to the Ranch in Torrey to get some pigs that Ken was selling. The only problem one of the pigs got away. Bob was the only person Grant has ever seen that could run a pig into the ground and hardly break a sweat. Most of the other experiences Grant shared with Bob is when they lived only a block away from each other in St. George. They played a lot of baseball together. The most memorable thing is dodging the flying forks.
