One winter day, Dad and Mom had gone for a walk. They always packed .22 rifles just to keep the varmets under control. They spotted 2 muskrats sitting on the ice by the river. Dad told Mom to take the one on the right and he’d shoot the one on the left on the count of 3. At the count of 2, Mom shot right between the muskrats and they ran off. Dad always claimed that she did it on purpose because he was such a “dead-eye” and would surely have hit his and she didn’t want to be shown up.
